- The two-night event GOSPEL, the new history series from Henry Louis Gates, Jr., digs deep into the origin of Black spirituality asconveyed through sermon and song. It airs on February 12th and 13th on PBS Channel 6. Kevin and Tanishia Hamilton, who are partners in life, music and worship, join Mark to talk about the history and the longevity of gospel in the local community. The Hamiltons founded Southwest Soul Circuit in 2006 with the mission to uplift, inspire, and entertain thei local community by combining good quality music and community service.

- Meet Bill Reynolds, a Navy veteran and the director of Military and First Responder Trauma Recovery, or the “Red, White and Blue” program at Sierra Tucson. Bill and his team provide mental health support for military vets and police; offering sensitive, trauma-informed care for first responders and their loved ones. Learn how they are accelerating their experiential & outdoor therapies and adopting some remarkable neuro-driven, high-tech treatment…

- And, the Tucson non-profit Literacy Connects sponsors a group of performers and musicians called “Stories That Soar!”. They help young writers realize the power and potential of bringing their stories to life, for the stage, video, and radio. We are now presenting these stories on the first Thursday of every month here on Arizona Spotlight.
This month’s Stories That Soar! was written as a collaboration between an entire 2nd grade class. When asked "What does the word love mean to you?,” the students shared that love is something that can be found anytime, in everyday moments with their family, friends, pets and the world around them.
