January 8th is a day that Southern Arizonans will never forget. In the 12 years since that horrific event, the January 8th Memorial Foundation and the Southern Arizona Heritage and Visitor Center teamed up to establish "The Embrace" memorial, which is a tribute to remembrance and hope. It is housed at the old Pima County courthouse, which was once Tucson's civic center. It's now a place where visitors can come to remember those who were killed, those who survived, and those who were changed forever.
As a symbol of how our community banded together and “embraced” one another in those days that followed, it is a place of remembrance, reflection, and inspiration.
