The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety reports that law enforcement made 9,223 traffic stops over the Fourth of July Weekend, one of the biggest weekends for drunk driving in the United States.

A total of 306 arrests were made for the three classes of DUI.

That’s down roughly 10% since 2024, and 23% since 2023.

Out of those 306 arrests made 61 were extreme DUI, which is a blood alcohol content of .15 and above.

That number has dropped from 94 extreme DUI’s in 2023.

The number of speeding tickets went up from the previous two years, with 210 criminal citations, and over 3,200 civil citations.

The data comes from law enforcement task forces deployed across the state to reduce crashes, fatalities, and injuries over high traffic weekends.
