Tucson celebrates the Fourth with fireworks downtown and a parade in the pines

Fourth of July celebrations are taking place throughout Pima County.

The Desert Diamond Casino and Tohono O’odham Nation are hosting the city’s 28th annual fireworks celebration from “A” Mountain starting at 9 p.m. The public is invited to watch from the Tucson Convention Center parking lot and City-State garage, by the corner of Congress and Freeway, for free.

Earlier in the day, the Summerhaven community on Mount Lemmon is hosting a parade starting at noon, kicking things off with a F-16 flyover, if the weather permits.

Spectators should line up along Sabino Canyon Parkway by 10:30 a.m. Local Restaurants will also remain open.
