Tucson residents made their voices heard at two protests over the weekend. On Sunday, teachers' union members marched downtown and rallied against attacks on public schools and federal workers.

There was also a major protest in front of Tucson's Tesla dealership on Saturday.

More than 1,500 people lined the sidewalks at the intersection of Oracle Road and River Road to protest President Trump and Elon Musk.

They held signs, upside down American flags, and chanted anti-administration slogans.

Phineas Anderson and his wife organized the rally. He said they started the regular demonstrations that have tapped into a feeling that people needed to demonstrate because they are upset about the actions of the Trump administration.

" We want all those people that are like us are very disappointed in Trump to join us so he understands the courts are acting one way, the crowds are acting with the courts to try and have him change or to be defeated particularly in 2026," he said.

Tucson residents have rallied a number of times since February in front of the Tesla dealership, but organizers say this weekend's was the largest so far.

Anderson said more are planned at that location and others.
