AZ Senate President calls for Arizona’s public universities to end DEI programs

Republican Warren Petersen said universities could lose federal funding if they do not comply with President Trump’s executive order.

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen is calling for all three public Arizona universities to end their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs, calling them a violation of anti-discrimination law.

On Feb. 10, Petersen, R-Gilbert, took to social media with a letter addressed to Michael Crow of Arizona State University, Suresh Garimella of the University of Arizona, and José Luis Cruz Rivera of Northern Arizona University.
